The first comic stab at Galactica. Like every adaptation of the original series, the artists here had no license to use the actors' likenesses. And it shows. Issues 1-3 were published a few months previously in Marvel Comics Super Special v1 #8.This run features what we would, in 2005, call "Larson" or "original" Battlestar Galactica stories. As far as is presently known there has been little in the way of the "canon" war going on in the BSG universe that there is in, say, the Star Wars universe. It's difficult to know, therefore, whether fans of the original series would consider this comic "in-continuity" or an "in name only" phenomenon. What is known, however, is that most fans of the series consider this work really, really bad. A blatant exploitation of license which adds little to the universe. Fans of the Ronald Moore 2003 "reimagined" BSG will find very little here that resembles "their" BSG, aside from maybe the first five issues.
