The Red Diary / The Re[a]d Diary   (2012)
Search for 'The Red Diary / The Re[a]d Diary' on eBay

Publisher: Man of Action Studios (Image Comics)

Publication Date: 2012

Country: United States

Language: English

Notes:
Flipbook graphic novel with two separate indicias. One side states "The Red Diary" and the other "The Re[a]d Diary".

Originally published in French in 2007 as "Le Carnet Rouge" by Soleil Productions. This volume is not a simple translated reprint however. "The Red Diary" half of the book is just that, a translated reprint. "The Re[a]d Diary" half needs a bit of an explanation. Upon seeing Teddy Kristiansen's artwork, Steven T. Seagle decided he wished to publish the book in English. The book was published in French by Soleil, as well as Danish, but Seagle cannot read either language. Using transliteration, he adapted the script to English while keeping proper names and places the same.

The finished result is more of a re-mix of the original story, and the book as a whole is a unique experiment.
