Notes:
German translation of the Japanese anime comics (cine manga).
The series was launched in 1996 (when "Sailor Moon" was briefly on German television) with issue #3/96 and was quickly canceled with issue #5/98. These three issues feature a sub-par translation (taking the names from the Italian version e.g.
When "Sailor Moon" moved to a different network and was highly successful, the comic book series resumed in 1998 with issue #4/98, this time with a much more accurate translation.
Each issue adapts one episode from the animated series.
The first three issues were later collected in the "Sonderheft #1" issue (with new translations) and one issue (#21/2000 - an adaptation of episode 104) managed to get banned in Germany. The dialogue and pictures of said issue are accused of suggesting that Chibi-Usa (the daughter of Sailor Moon) is getting molested and raped by a boy (personally I think it reflects more badly on the people having these absurd thoughts).
The series ended with issue #4/02 after running out of material to print and since the popularity of "Sailor Moon" waned obviously it wasn't profitable enough for Egmont to produce new issues on their own.
Number of issues cataloged: 33
