This was the name X-Factor were called by the media when they were seen in their "mutant" costumes from X-Factor 7-25. Their students took the name when they formed their own group to stop the demon invasion in the Inferno crossover. The X-Terminators effectively disbanded when Rusty and Skids were arrested by Freedom Force and the remaining members, Boom Boom and Rictor joined the New Mutants.
