First Appearance: Secret Six #1. The group formed for Secret Six (1968). Of the Secret Six groups, this one was possibly the most "noble". Though they shared with all other "Secret Sixes" the common trait of members who'd been coerced into service by a hard-nosed Mockingbird, their aims were closely allied with those of the US government. They were, in a real sense, more of a collection of spies than a collection of villains. Still, like the 21st century version, they were only able to be coerced because their personal backgrounds were less than savory. Like all versions of the Secret Six, there's a moral ambiguity about this team--even if their missions tended to be for the greater (American) good.

Like the second Secret Six team, the team was allied with--formed by, really--a shadowy, almost-certainly-governmental organization known only as "The Agency". We might assume that means the CIA, given the nature of their missions, but it was never definitively said.
