Bio:
There have been several incarnations of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

The first incarnation was formed by Havok to expose Dark Beast's genetic experiments. Havok gave everyone the impression that he had given up on Professor X's dream and he reformed the Brotherhood of Mutants (dropping the "Evil") to appear to be a proactive mutant group against humanity. Havok faked an assassination attempt on J. Jonah Jameson which was stopped by the X-Men, and shortly afterwards he recruited Dark Beast and Fatale into the group to keep a closer eye on their activities. After Havok exposed Dark Beast's true motives, he disbanded the Brotherhood and returned to X-Factor.

The second incarnation of the Brotherhood of Mutants was formed by Blob and aided by Professor X after they helped him escape from the government sanctioned Operation: Zero Tolerance. Professor X trained the Brotherhood to increase their chances of survival against the sentient computer Cerebro.

After Cerebro was defeated, Mystique enlisted the Brotherhood to help her recover the remains of X-51 and she reorganized the group once they were done. Mystique led another assassination attempt against Senator Robert Kelly, but they were stopped by Pyro who wanted to redeem himself just before the Legacy Virus took his life. Most of the members of the Brotherhood were recruited by Banshee and formed the X-Corps which allowed the terrorist coalition led by Hoffman and Marshal to claim the name of the Brotherhood. (see: The Brotherhood).

After the terrorist Brotherhood was dismantled, a Magneto imposter disguised as Xorn infiltrated the Xavier Institute and turned the special class of students into the next Brotherhood. The group was disbanded after Wolverine decapitated the imposter.

Exodus formed a new Brotherhood to avenge the apparent death of Magneto.

Sunspot formed the most recent incarnation of the Brotherhood of Mutants.
