Notes:
For DC's 2000 annuals, the company expanded its offerings and returned to uniting them by theme. 2000's theme would be "Planet DC," every annual of which introduced a new hero -- much like Bloodlines but without an overarching connected story between the annuals. The twist was that these heroes would be international, citizens of one foreign country or another. DC always had occasional international super-powered characters -- from German villains during World War II to various heroes and villains from Russia. Nonetheless, it did seem conspicuous how super-powers -- some of which were generated through accidents -- were disproportionately distributed to America. In the era of globalization, DC used its 2000 "Planet DC" annuals to do something about this, giving many countries their first super-powered DC character. These new characters, however, were largely unremarkable -- most never not a chance to be forgotten, as the annuals did not sell well.
