** SPOILERS ** - Tom Mix
Close up of Jack Knight, marvelling at Dr. Fate's re-appearance, but worrying about his chances against Mordru. Alan Scott joins the battle, but is immediately turned to wood. Jack Knight gets up to fight, but his staff is changed into a snake which attacks him. Awesome splash page of Modru and Fate battling in mid-air. Hawkgirl makes her attack. She and Black Canary are changed into caged birds. Atom Smasher is changed into a picture. We are shown the pan-dimensional nature of the battle. Courtney frees Knight, then goes to help Wildcat, who has broken an arm and leg. Mordru explains he has been stealing Fate's power throughout the battle, and now he is strong enough to win. Fwoom. The artifacts of Fate float towards Mordru, as their wearer falls to the ground. Mordru puts on Fate's cloak and helmet. Their previous wearer explains he still controls the artifacts, and the cloak then appears to squeeze Mordru into nothing. We see Mordru imprisoned inside the amulet, as Fate retieves his artifacts. Atom Smasher recognizes the new Fate as Hector Hall. Ghost Kent Nelson appears to tell Hector he will always be around to help, then he appears to go into the amulet as well. Fate rounds up all the heroes, then transports them back to headquarters. Hector Hall explains how he went from being a dead Infinity Inc member to Fate. Sand says the JSA should officially reform. Everyone agrees, except Hippolyta, who says she will be a reserve member, and Jack Knight, who says he has business in Opal City, but says that Courtney should be the 'stellar powered' member. Sand offers to finance the whole operation. Then, he suddenly seems to turn into a pile of green sand on the floor.
So the JSA is reformed, and we can move on. Still liking the scripts, and the art is mostly good. I'd love to own that splash of Fate and Mordru.
