    Reviews - The New Warriors - #8

Tawt stories and tension-filled action! - james meeley
This issue is, quite arguably, the best issue of the entire series! You have most of the team facing the threat of an eco-terrorist super-group in the Amazon jungle, while team leader Night Thrasher faces a one-on-one battle with the Punisher in the urban one. The tension and action in this book are just incredible. Night Thrasher's fight is particularly bloody and shows you just how dangerous the hero game is. The plot is well-crafted and moves at a very smooth, but brisk, pace. You will find it near-impossible to not want to turn to the next page. Artist Mark Bagley shows you why he would later be tapped to be the artist for Spider-man here, with clean and sharp linework that has become his trademark. And that ending page... you never see it coming. The New Warriors would never be better, than they were at this point. It's an issue where the entire creative staff was firing on all cylinders! Just some great comic storytelling, which we don't see enough of today, that every comic should strive for!
