20 Pages - Not Enough - MartyPrime
Amethyst Ö err Ö Sword of Sorcery issue 2 Ö was an interesting book. I donít even bother reading the colossally disappointing Beowulf back up anymore so what Iím left with is a 20 page Amethyst comic that Iím paying $3.99 an issue for Ė and frankly this issue wasnít worth it. This chapter is clearly designed as world building Ö but where the first few pages succeeded in that greatly Ö once the character began discussing the finer point of the political struggles of this new world Ö that I canít even recall the name of Ė the story grinds to a halt. In many ways it resembles the senate scenes from Star Wars Episode I only those seemed to have a point beyond giving you back-story. I think that was my main problem with this issue it was all political back-story and very little story.

There is nothing really technically wrong with the book Ö but at 3.99 and only 20 pages I would expect to get more packed in here. However the art by Aaron Loprsti was incredible - the two page splash on pages 2 & 3 was gorgeous Ö but I donít know if thatís enough to keep me coming back.
