Notes:
Now defunct, Quality Comics is still remembered as the home of a lot of really good comics ideas. The above website is suggested as a place to read up on some characters of the Golden Age originally devised by the good people at Quality Comics.

All Quality Comics characters now belong to DC. A good portion of them were seen in DC titles in the pre-Crisis era. With some exceptions, most most Quality Comics characters were relegated to an existence on Earth-X, a world in which the Nazis won World War II. A few, like Firebrand, were eventually shown to be a part of Earth 2's All-Star Squadron. But it seems that only Plastic Man was ever a mainstream, regularly-used, Earth 1 character.

As a result of the Crisis, more of these characters, like Uncle Sam, became a part of "regular" DC continuity--although Infinite Crisis seems to be killing them off again.
