2011-10-13 21:59:33 mikebo Synopsis In the middle of the night, members of the Gotham City Police Department stand in an alleyway hovering over a dead body. A sight like this is common in this city, but tonight is different. Tonight they stand over a very familiar corpse. To the GCPD, the man with the bullet in his head appears to be former President Lex Luthor. Power Girl chases Terra-Man over the Mediterranean Sea when they cross the border into Khandaq airspace. The moment they do this they become Black Adam’s business. He prevents her from engaging Terra-Man while inside the borders of Khandaq, saying “If you do not leave in 10 seconds, I will consider you to be trespassing, and unlike so many sheep in this world . . . trespasses are something I do not forgive. Tell your friends.” In Metropolis, tensions grow between John Henry Irons and Natasha when he informs her that she will be attending summer school because of a D in English. “Your problem is you’ve got brains but no wisdom. The first was given to you but the second has to be earned with time, and you’re too impatient for your own good.” Natasha storms off when Irons gets a call from STAR Labs to identify a body. Back in Khandaq, Black Adam is approached by Rough House and Noose, two ambassadors from Intergang. They wish to present Adam with gifts on the behalf of their employers. They brought two million in gold and a beautiful young woman, bound and blindfolded. Intergang wanted Khandaq to be their pipeline between Africa and the Middle East and is willing to include him in the profits if Black Adam is willing to allow them safe passage. The girl begins to rebel but Noose subdues her, painfully. Adam declines Intergang’s offer, and puts his hand through Noose’s skull. The next day is very busy for Booster Gold. He starts by stopping Shockwave from robbing the Metropolis Gold Reserve, winning a small fortune betting on the Meteors beating the Cardinals (with some handy future knowledge from Skeets) and gaining the endorsement of Akteon-Holt, an up-and-coming pharmaceutical company. Things were looking up. Then, at the signing party, the CEO was arrested for Securities Fraud. Skeets, thinking he was still malfunctioning, suggests that they pay another visit to Will Magnus, but Booster has another idea. “Get me everything you can on the current whereabouts of a man named Hunter. Rip Hunter.” STAR Labs gained the assistance of John Henry Irons in investigating the mysterious corpse of Lex Luthor. He discovers colored contacts on the eyes and guesses that it’s a double Lex from a parallel dimension. However, there was no wear or tear on the contacts themselves or scarring on Luthor’s corneas which would be there if he’d been wearing them for a while. At that moment, in walks Lex Luthor himself, sporting his power suit and leading a gaggle of reporters. He uses the alternate Lex to explain away his bizarre actions during his presidency and after. He claimed that this “Evil Lex” trapped our “Good Lex” in his home dimension while “Evil Lex” came here to bring about the end of the world. Luckily, Lex managed to escape this eave reality before it was destroyed. He then uses Irons as his alibi, saying that “He can verify what I’m telling you. Even if you don’t trust me, you know you can trust him.” The week ended with the opening of the Khandaq Embassy. The Press was there in force to see Black Adam himself there along with Terra-Man, who was careful to stay within the Embassy’s protective zone as to not be arrested. Black Adam talked of the devastation of the Crisis and the heroes that the world praised. Heroes such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Heroes that were strangely absent from the world. He talked of gathering allies to spread messages to the world. “The first message is simple. People like this man,” he said as he grabbed Terra-Man, “don’t deserve to live.” He then proceeded to rip the self-proclaimed cowboy in half, showering the reporters in the criminal’s blood. He then flew away, prepared to change the world. Meanwhile, in Dr. Sivana’s deserted lab, the tube that holds Mr. Mind prisoner contains not the genius worm but a cocoon. What will emerge is anyone’s guess.
