2009-05-04 23:21:34 Ikkstakk Synopsis Ms. Marvel and the Destructor regain consciousness at the same time and continue their fight. She takes another hit from his tachyon blast, but defeats him by bottling up water from a fractured hydrant and hitting him with the concentrated pressure. As soon as Professor Korman falls, an A.I.M. hovercraft rips up from beneath the street and agents pile out to retrieve him so he can't be interrogated. Ms. Marvel has to let A.I.M. and Korman get away so she can save some children who were endangered by a falling building wall. She flies to the roof of the Daily Bugle where, confused and exhausted, she transforms back into Carol Danvers. Just as confused by her sudden appearance at work, Carol stumbles to her office where she finds Mary Jane Watson hanging out. MJ dotes on her, but Carol tosses her out so she can get some work done. She finds a note on her desk alerting her to a secret NASA shuttle launch to Skylab, headed by an old friend of hers named Salia Petrie. She convinces J. Jonah Jameson to allow her to cover the launch for Woman magazine and heads off to Cape Canaveral. A.I.M., also aware of the secret shuttle mission, feels that it will threaten several of their own projects and launches a rocket into orbit. Carol is met at the airport by Salia and spends the night at her Cocoa Beach home. The next morning, she gets a tour of her old workplace from Salia and fellow astronaut David Adamson, but falls victim to another headache and leaves her friends for some privacy behind a building. There she transforms into Ms. Marvel, whose seventh sense has warned her of A.I.M.'s rocket launch, and flies into orbit to investigate, only realizing after she's there that her costume automatically creates an energy field around her that protects her from the cold and radiation and provides a breathable atmosphere. She breaks into the rocket to discover the Doomsday Man inside. The giant robot that was built to survive in the harshest of environments unleashes its arm lasers and mouth-mounted photonic nullifier on her, and when they prove insufficient, the robot detonates the rocket's fuel cells, causing an explosion that hurls both of them into the atmosphere. Amazed that she managed to survive re-entry and impact unprotected, Ms. Marvel recovers and is drawn to the cave nearby where she finds the ruins of the Psyche-Magnitron. Sh regains her memories at that moment, understanding at last that she and Carol Danvers are the same person.
