2012-12-15 02:30:49 scottandrewhutchins Synopsis Danny the Street dreams of a Lee-Kirby style adventure with teams inspired by the Doom Patrol and the Trenchcoat Brigade. With early names that didn't take, Robotman is the Automaton and Kay Challis is Elasti-Woman. Mister E is E for elastic, but still a blind mystic, and Doctor 13 is a multiple man whose 8th incarnation contacts the Chief. Celestius needs to consume plant Earth. Cliff Steele's brain is not in his body, but a wicked scientist with the same initials as Niles Caulder is using it instead. In the end, he sacrifices his life to protect a blind African-American girl from Celestius, who regains her sight when Celestius and the Automaton's body are sent back through the dinmensional portal. Mister E is E for elastic, but still a blind mystic, John Constantine is a costumed superhero called Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger looks completely different, and Doctor 13 is a multiple man whose 8th incarnation contacts the Chief. 2012-12-15 02:29:52 scottandrewhutchins Notes Although labeled "suggested for mature readers" this issue is as tame as the Silver Age Marvel stories that it parodies. The end includes a two-page tour of Man-hattan Island (which is shaped like a man's body) in the style of old Marvel backups, and ends with Cliff finding Niles boiling an egg to eat in his laboratory. The first page is by Richard Case to orient the reader that the remainder of the issue will be a dream, while Steacy's art is modeled on late '60s Kirby.
