Cameron Scott and two other ex-military men, Witman Halsey and Dwight Crane, are hired to find a man's son who has gone to Nicaragua to fight alongside the Contras. The men find the son almost immediately, but he is either dead or near it and the point is moot when the jeep he is in hits one of Plastique's explosives. She is there supporting the Communist side. Halsey drags Crane and Scott into battle, but he and Crane are both killed in action. Outraged, Captain Atom makes his appearance and begins destroying all Soviet and U.S. weapons.
