Synopsis:
The anti-matter wave destroys all but five worlds. Pariah tries to warn all the Earths, no one listens. The Monitor summons several B characters to combat the Anti-Moniter. Harbinger is introduced.
Notes:
Not only was this issue the beginning of the end of the DCU as readers had known it, it was also the very end of DC's short-lived experiment with the "Flexographic process". This printing method involved the use of rubber plates and water-based ink. While one result was exceptionally bright colors, another was the loss of fine detail, especially on pages printed at the end of runs. Fans were outraged that Pérez' intricate pencil work lacked the clarity they felt it should have had. Pérez himself was distraught over the issue, and so the experiment, which had been hailed as the beginning of a new era of rich color just five months earlier, abruptly came to an end.
