Synopsis: Various segments of the community prepare for Shadow Thief's trial. The media ask questions about it, Kate Spencer subpoenas prosecution witness including the JLA and the villains decide that there is a very real danger of Shadow Thief informing on them. Shrapnel is sent to neutralise this problem, but he encounters Kate as Manhunter and she is able to defeat him. Calculator and his Society allies turn to another source to deal with this problem.
Synopsis: The trial of Shadow Thief has officially begun, four weeks after he was captured. The media are naturally very interested, not least because the prosecution has called some very high-profile witnesses, including Hawkman and Superman, although the defense does a good job of undermining their credibility. Elsewhere, the first Manhunter, Dan Richards, is attacked and killed by a shadowy figure. Later, as Kate is about to drive away from the courthouse, she realises that her car is wired to explode and thus throws herself clear. At the same time, Shadow Thief's guards are attacked by the deadly assassin Cheshire.
Synopsis: Kate Spencer escapes her exploding car and tracks down Shadow Thief, who is trying to escape from Cheshire. The three of them have a confrontation which ends when both Kate and Cheshire are poisoned by Cheshire's black mamba venom. Kate ensures that Shadow Thief is recaptured, then heads to the home of Dylan Battles, who provides her with an antidote. The next morning at the trial, Kate brings Ed and Felicity Raymond in as witnesses in order to show the human side of the murder victim, Firestorm. Elsewhere, Merlyn, Monocle and Phobia watch the coverage of the trial and plan their attack.
Synopsis: It is the third day of Shadow Thief's trial. When Kate Spencer arrives at the courtroom, she bumps into someone and sees a vision of her son in a coffin - this naturally shakes her up, and she heads to the restroom to recover. Meanwhile, her son encounters a man that claims to be his grandfather, and former Manhunter Chase Lawler meets someone in a bar in Chicago. Phobia (the woman Kate encountered), Merlyn and Monocle crash the courtroom determined to kill Shadow Thief. When Kate hears the disturbance, she dons her Manhunter gear and heads in there. Also present is Lorraine Reilly, formerly the super-heroine Firehawk. Manhunter's costme makes her immune to Phobia's powers and she is able to battle the villains, causing Monocle's monocle to explode, blowing his head off. However, when Merlyn attacks Shadow Thief, he somehow regains his shadow powers which had been kept from him, and rises up to face them all.
Synopsis: As a massive battle erupts in the court room, the Shadow-Thief is able to regain control of his vest. Allowing the criminals Phobia and Merlyn to escape, Shadow-Thief is rendered unconscious by Lorraine Reilly. In wake of the chaos, the judge declares a mistrial. Elsewhere, former Manhunter Chase Lawler is murdered and left to be found by another former Manhunter, Mark Shaw.
Synopsis: Made aware of the killer going around murdering those with the name Manhunter, Cameron Chase, an old friend of Kate's, arrives to assist the investigation of the murderer. Elsewhere, another former Manhunter, Kirk DePaul is murdered, as Mark Shaw heads toward Los Angeles to warn Kate, the current Manhunter!
Synopsis: Josiah Power of the Power Company identifies Kirk DePaul's body, and Dylan Battles tells Kate (Manhunter) Spencer that her staff has some sort of homing circuit built into it, which he has dampened. Cameron Chase has come to Los Angeles to get help from her old friend Kate Spencer with the Manhunter killings case, and they learn that the only surviving former Manhunter, Mark Shaw, has been arrested - his blood was found at the Kirk DePaul murder scene. When Kate is left alone with Shaw, he grabs her, as he knows she's the last Manhunter. By the time Chase gets back to the interview room, Shaw and Kate have disappeared.
Synopsis: Kate Spencer has disappeared, kidnapped by Mark Shaw. Ramsey is distressed to hear this news on the television, and Cameron Chase seeks out Dylan Battles for help, telling him that she knows that Kate is the newest Manhunter. They investigate the history of Earth's various Manhunters, and discover that most are the result of a government initiative, most notably Mark Shaw and his alter ego Dumas - Dumas was created to do work that Shaw is unwilling to do and to give him one opponent that he will never find. When they access files named 'OMAC', the computer is over-ridden as someone traces their location. Elsewhere, Kate battles Shaw/Dumas, and an OMAC is activated to deal with the situation.
Synopsis: An OMAC unit has interrupted the battle between Manhunters Mark Shaw and Kate Spencer. It has been drawn to Shaw, but Kate soon becomes an additional target, as does Agent Cameron Chase when she arrives on the scene. Kate discovers that there is a man in the robotic OMAC body, and Chase recognises it as a fellow DEO agent. Shaw removes an implant from his skull, and Kate destroys her Manhunter staff and the OMAC disappears. Chase alerts the DEO Director to the problem of OMAC, and Mark Shaw moves in with Dylan Battles, so that they can see whether the removal of the implant also removes the Dumas personality. Later, Kate checks in with her son and ex-husband, finding that both of them are equally relieved that she's safe - once Ramsey is in bed, Kate and Peter wind up in each others' arms.
