After a long day, an unnamed general enters his quarters only to find Jakita, Elijah and the Drummer. He attempts to have his guards remove them but fails miserably when Jakita throws one through a wall and tells the other to leave. Jakita brings up the topic of David Paine and the General's blood runs cold.

The general begins to recant a tale not unlike that of the Hulk's. He speaks of a brilliant man who invented a bomb using the stuff that makes up the behind the scenes of the universe. On the day that he tests his quantum box bomb, he finds a woman on the testing site and races to save her from the blast. He succeeds in pushing her out of the way, but became a victim of the bomb (or perhaps became something that would survive the effects of the bomb). After 24 days, the military finally contained him in a five mile pit and starved him to death, killing him over 20 years later.
