The Faust Gambit

Synopsis:
Dr. Strange prepares for the arrival of both Mephisto and Satannish. After battling minions sent by both to collect the debited souls, Satannish arrives and claims both Sara and Mordo’s souls. Dr. Strange is captured by Mephista and taken to Mephisto’s realm. While Mephisto and Mephista travel to earth to engage Satannish in battle over the souls, Dr. Strange escapes to Agamotto’s realm through the Eye of Agamotto. Also contains a book of the Vishanti telling the tale of the first Mordo family.

Notes:
Howard the Duck's appearance in the issue is ultimately revealed to be Rintrah in disguise.

Synopsis:
Contains the story of the first Mordo family. Takes place during the first world war when Mordo's father is attempting to learn the black arts. Mordo's own mother in the end slays his father. Eventually Mordo learns of this and swears to bring about his father's dream, a world of feudal magic ruled by the Mordo family.
