An enormous man, Dave Landers, is wheeled into an ER where Dr. Randy O'Brien is working, after a suicide attempt. It turns out that Landers has experienced intense pain after developing several hundred pounds of muscle all at once.

O'Brien, meanwhile, has been seeing black ghosts flying in and out of his body recently.

O'Brien reads about a clinic in Wisconsin that people who have developed paranormal abilities and wonders if it is a place that might be able to help his patient and himself.

They are placed into a therapy group with five other paranormals. After a few days however, Randy discovers, by way of one of his black ghosts or antibodies, that the clinic is up to no good.

The seven displaced paranormals decide to flee in the middle of the night
