Notes:
Reprinting NINE imaginative tales totaling 50 full pages of science-fiction and monster stories that first appeared in 1959 and '60, just before the dawn of the Marvel Age of Comics. Don Heck fans can especially rejoice as he illustrates four of the issue's nine stories.
This comic carries a number of fun house ads touting titles "Now on sale!" accompanied by cover reproductions. Among them are FANTASTIC FOUR KING-SIZE SPECIAL #8, KA-ZAR #2, and THOR KING-SIZE SPECIAL #3. There's a full-page ad for the Joe Weider Musclebuilding Course that features Arnold Schwarzenegger hoisting a bathing beauty. Also fun was the full-page comic strip ad for Lee Jeans illustrated in a faux-Milt Caniff style titled, "Jim Driscoll in 'Danger on the Field.'" The Mighty Marvel Checklist and the Bullpen Bulletins page only add to the abundant nostalgia value of this very fun comic book.
