Synopsis:
In saving the life of a young woman, Supergirl merges her protoplasmic form with the dying body, and the two have become one. At last, Supergirl has a family, a life, a soul - but they're all somebody else's. And as she strives to solve the riddle of Linda Danvers's murder, Supergirl may not like what she's become.
Notes:
Supergirl merges with Linda Danvers in flashback in this story, and thus the two end up being one. However as they have led separate lives up until that point the chronological listings of both characters before this issue will be listed separately. Part of the protoplasmic material of the original Supergirl matrix isn't included in the new Supergirl matrix and becomes an entity of its own which shows up again in issue #26.
Also serves as the introduction of the initial 9-issue story arc which eventually leads the Matrix/Linda Danvers entity to the rediscovery of self as an "earth-born-angel".
Linda Danvers and the Chaos Cult appear only in flashback.
