Synopsis:
In a story otherwise unrelated to (but not definitively outside) the whole of the DC or Vertigo universes, Lincoln Reinhardt and Delaney Pope are on opposite ends of the legal process. He's a conservative cop and she's a liberal attorney, sworn to defend the very people he's sworn to put in jail. After hours, though, they become Skylark and Iron Angel, frequently doing things to defend their city well outside the bounds of what their day jobs will allow.
The story chronicles their meeting (in both their secret and super identities), their rocky romance, and their eventual, uneasy partnership.
