Issue Tagline: Epilogue to the Award-Winning Jack the Ripper Saga

Format: Black & White; Prestige Format; 48 pages

Story Arc(s):    Add/remove story arcs to this issue

Synopsis:
Alan Moore takes one last, long look at the mystery that has fascinated him for the previous decade: the identity of Jack the Ripper. In this dream-like epilogue to the masterwork (volumes 1-10) that is From Hell, Moore explores the history of the obsession with Jack the Ripper from Victorian time s to present. Eddie Campbell's haunting artwork captures the faces and feelings of the men and women who have followed the Ripper's trail into the darkest aspects of the human soul.

True crime expert George Hagenauer provides a Ripper gallery ("Hell Today"), juxtaposing contemporary photographs of the Ripper's haunts with panels of From Hell, along with an overview of London's "penny press" that first sensationalized the grisly murders. Campbell also provides his own afterthoughts on "the Gull theory" along with previously unpublished character sketches. If you read the first ten volumes and thought you were done, you must read this final hallucinatory episode of one of the most important graphic novel of the '90s.
