Synopsis:
P. Craig Russell's magnum opus begins! The four-issue Rhinegold series comprises Book One of Russell's adaptation of the Ring cycle by German composer Richard Wagner. Alberich the dwarf has a lust that will never be fulfilled. Cursed with a hideous appearance and demeanor to match, he suffers the teasing and taunting of the lovely Rhine Daughters, who should be guarding the Rhinegold instead of frolicking. When Alberich overhears them speaking of the Rhinegold's magic, a new, more powerful lust seizes him: the desire to control the world!
Notes: A single page interview with Russell regarding his opera adaptations, followed by an 11 page gallery highlighting the same operas, as well as his adaptations of songs and poetry.
