Synopsis:
In a Glenville theatre, the Human Torch is honored by being in news highlight reels at the movies. The Wizard happened to be at one and decides he would like to match his keen intellect against the hot headed youngster. He believed this is the only thing left in the world worth challenging his intellect.

The Wizard created a situation where he is put in danger hoping to lure the Torch to do a good deed and save him. It happened just as planned. The Wizard faked gratitude and invited the Torch to come see his state-of-the-art house as a reward. The Torch had been a fan of the Wizard (not knowing he was a deviant) and eagerly accepted.

The Torch has fooled into being smothered in a chemical solution that retards his flame. All but his head is doused and he is thrown into a locked chamber while the Wizard uses his technological savvy to design a disguise that fools the public into thinking he’s the Torch. He proceeds to rob a bank, free prisoners and extorts a huge fee on a busy bridge.

Meanwhile, the Torch is able to get his flame back and burns his way to freedom.

He tracks down the Wizard who tells him to meet him at his house for one last test of power. Johnny elicits Sue’s help on this one. As the Wizard goes to burn pictures that prove the Torch’s innocence, the Invisible Girl floats them out of his hand thoroughly stunning the Wizard long enough to capture him.
