Synopsis:
The New Mutants arrives in Limbo with Gosamyr after defeating Spyder on the other side of the universe. They are faced with S'ym and his techo-organic minions. They battle and Magik loses her Soul Sword to S'ym, preventing them from teleporting our of limbo. They become overwhelmed and she instead teleports the team to another part of Limbo. They arrive to the time and place where Illyana became Magik (see Uncanny X-Men #160). She tells her teammates of the events inwhich she came Belasco's student and how she had to destroy the X-men. The team is terrified of her story and really see the dark side of Magik. S'ym interupts and the NM's teleport again. This time they discover the remains of the Colossus she destroyed and finishes the story. Meanwhile we find the four core members of the Hellfire Club observing the unusual events occurring in New York. Magneto saves several tourists from being killed by the building they are standing on top of. S'ym again locates the NM's and they avoid him by teleporting. This time they are faced with a N'astirh who explains this was pre-planned and he used a spell to obtain them. He encourges Magik to except her Darkchylde side. They make an agreement that requires Magik to face S'ym and take back her soul sword allowing the team to return to earth. Magik teleports the team to S'ym and battles him regaining her sword. Upon clutching the sword she sheds all physical human form and becomes a completed Darkchylde. She then teleports the team back to New York. Upon returning her portal remains opened and N'astirh appears thanking her. She was double crossed and now N'astirh has his gateway between both dimensions. End of issue.
