Synopsis:
Main Story: While the New Mutants have traveled to another galaxy to save Lila Cheney from an evil soul collector named Spyder. The issue begins with the NM's held captive by Spyder who designed the prison to counteract each of there abilities. Magik's ability to teleport through Limbo is held as a last resort, due to her losing control of Limbo to S'ym. Spyder captured the NM's with the aid of another alien being named Gosamyr by blackmailing her while he held her family prisoner. Finally she realizes the mistake and frees the NM's only if they had agreed to save her family. All along Spyder had taken her family who were in a state of evolution and awoken them hundreds of years before they were ready. As a result they were extremely violent and destructive. While Spyder escaping the NM's changed focus to Gosamyr's family. Due to Gosamyr's family nearly destroying the planet and its inhabitants. Lila is left with no alternative but teleport herself and the creatures into the nearest sun. The NM's assumed Lila To be dead, leaving them with there last resort to have Magik teleport them to Limbo. Upon doing so, they find themselves surrounded by S'ym and Limbo's demons. This leads directly into the Inferno story arc. Interlude story: Magneto who is once again furious to find his students disobeying orders by leaving the mansion travels to the Hellfire Club to seek their resources for locating the NM's. Upon entering New York he is confronted by a set of fire escape stairs that has become animate due to the unusal activity happening. Again Inferno prelude. Easily destroying this he enters the Hellfire club to be greated by the other core members; Emma Frost, Selene, and Sebastian Shaw. They mock Magneto for his lact of control over the students. This is forshadowing to Magneto once again becoming the evil mutant lord. Together the four members seek answers for the mysterious happenings that is occuring in New York.
