Notes:
The "variant" below was not, in fact, one that the issue was ever published under, but rather the common "press kit" variant used to market the book. It was significantly different from the final form so as to preserve a plot point. Careful observers, however, will note that it in fact highlights the very thing DC was apparently trying to conceal (although the final form does drive the point home a bit harder).
