Synopsis:
The New Mutants’ search for Psyche leads them to Karma’s uncle Nguyen Ngoc Coy. The teenagers launch a surprise attack easily incapacitating his bodyguards, but the crime lord refuses to answer any of their questions. The young heroes, particularly Xi’an, seem willing to compromise their values to find their missing teammate. They can not follow through, however, and let him go. General Coy realizes he has the upper-hand and offers a possible solution: he will give them the information if Karma agrees to work in his service for one year. She reluctantly agrees.

Team America race towards an A.I.M. laboratory in Mexico. They must steal a crystal for Viper or she will kill Danielle Moonstar. They bicker along the trail with their egos preventing them from working together. Professor Xavier scolds them through the psychic link he formed with the motorcyclists. They start acting like a team and successfully retrieve the protected gem. The building explodes before they can make their escape, yet they somehow survive. A.I.M. aggressively chases down the interlopers. With their options running out, Lobo summons the Dark Rider. He gains the power to save himself and his friend by destroying their pursuers.

Xi’an leads the New Mutants into Viper’s Big Sur hideout. They plan to save Dani in the event Team America should fail. The team easily deals with the armed guards and finds their friend before running into the Viper and Silver Samurai. The two sides battle back and forth with Xavier’s students eventually overcoming the villains. They victory comes with a price. Wolfsbane suffers a serious injury while Karma is threatened by haunting presence.

Silver Samurai teleports himself and his partner to safety aboard a waiting yacht. Viper orders New Mutants’ destruction, and with a push of a button, the fortress explodes. Xavier cries out. He senses their pain and then – nothing!
