After Jamie leaves, Nightcrawler teleports the team away to Central Park which was not Nightcrawler’s destination. Once there, Betsy explains who the Forsaken are to the rest of team with the Watcher, who has followed them, filling in who they work for, the First Fallen. The Cleopatra’s Needle in the park begins to glow with energy, and flying salamanders looking creatures are created. Ripping the souls out of humans, the creature gather back to the needle. The X-Men are again attacked by the Forsaken and all but Kurt and Betsy are captured. After Kurt is captured, Psylocke, whose brother has made her invisible, smashes the bowl containing the souls.
