Story Arc(s): Add/remove story arcs to this issue
Flying back to Decepticon HQ in Jetfire, Buster is knocked unconscious when the drone Decepticon engages a squad of jet fighters in combat.
Soundwave discovers the listening device the Autobots have been using to listen in on Decepticon conversations, and Shockwave uses this to plant a trap, luring the Autobots to a swamp and dropping a replica of Optimus Prime's head into the drink. The Autobots rescue the head, place it upon their leader's shoulders...and are immediately cut down as the false Prime opens fire on all of them.
When Jetfire returns, Buster has awakened and uses the power of the matrix to override Shockwave's control of the drone and knock the Decepticon out. He then orders Jetfire to take Prime's true head the Autobots.
Just as the last Autobot falls, the body of Prime tears off its false head, attaches the real one, and attacks the unwitting Decepticons.
Realizing the treachery that has taken place, Shockwave himself departs from his headquarters and engages Prime in single combat. But Optimus is more than equal to Shockwave's strength, and hurls the Decepticon into the swamp, leaving him to sink beneath the murky depths.
The Autobots journey to the rescue of Buster who very graciously returns the power of the matrix to Optimus Prime.
When the jets attack the Buster-controlled Jetfire, Buster comments they are from the Air Force. But the planes depicted are F-14 Tomcats - US Navy planes.
