As the Surfer clashes with the Flying Dutchman, he learns that it is Mephisto that has unleashed the vile spirit from Limbo. As Mephisto and the Dutchman make every attempt possible to make the Surfer sign over his soul, he still refuses, even making a risky move to save an innocent woman. Impressed by the Surfer's valor, the Dutchman turns his back on Mephisto, only to have his soul saved by the Surfer!
