Battling Magnus to stop the amputation, Rai explains that if the amputation occurs, his son may die. Trying to bring Rai to his senses, Magnus explains that if Grand One cannot transform into its battle form, billions will die including Takashi. Against his judgment, Rai concedes and assists Magnus in the amputation, allowing Japan to transform. But will Takashi be able to survive following the amputation?
