The Avengers have a meeting to discuss the treat of the robot known as Arsenal, who recently battled them to a standstill. Hawkeye scoffs at the threat, and walks off. The Avengers talk to a government scientist, who tells them that Arsenal was part of a World War II Doomsday weapon, invented by Tony Starks' father. This news of course has an impact on Iron Man. Hawkeye and Beast discover a cavern below the mansion's sub-sub basement. Yellowjacket secretly follows them. They run into Arsenal, who defeats and captures Hawkeye and the Beast. Yellowjacket escapes and gets back to tell the others. Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Wonder Man, and Scarlet Witch go down after them, as Yellowjacket is too weakened from his battle to accompany them. The Vision, returning from a mission, encounters Arsenal and is attacked with a photoelectric force, and flies off screaming. The Avengers are battling Arsenal to a standstill, while Iron Man confronts the computer which controls and repair Arsenal. The computer's voice and brain patterns are based on those of his mother. Once he tells her that the war is over, and that her husband is dead, she self destructs. Meanwhile, Thor and Scarlet Witch team up to destroy Arsenal.
