Issue somewhat notorious among Doctor Who fans for misspelling the incoming lead actor's name on the cover--despite the fact that DWM was, as the cover proudly announces, an award-winning British publication and Davison had a fairly prominent career in British television already. Ahhh, well: it's not his real last name, anyway.

This mistake was later acknowledged, in issue #381. Having announced in issue #379 that the third series of Doctor Who (2005) would begin on 24 April 2007—when in fact it started on 31 April 2007—magazine editor Clayton Hickman began an essay of apology by saying, "From the magazine that proudly proclaimed, 'Peter Davidson is the Doctor . . ."

The error was finally corrected on the cover of issue #389, when a cover featuring the mini-episode "Time Crash" read, properly, "Peter Davison is the Doctor!"

Synopsis:
When Diego, a Spanish nobleman, is taken hostage by pirates, it's pretty clear he's gonna be robbed and forced to walk the plank. Near death from drowning, he is rescued by a passing Silurian. Instead of being afraid of the odd-looking sea creature, he befriends his savior. The Silurian takes Diego to a nearby desert island, where the nobleman waits for unlikely rescue by a passing ship.

Instead of rescue, however, the pirate ship returns and capture the Silurian. Desperate to save his new friend's life, Diego remembers a button the Silurian told him never to press. Activating it, Diego awakens a sleeping sea monster that pushes out of the water and destroys the pirate ship. Unfortunately, in the process his Silurian friend dies, too.

Diego is eventually rescued by a Spanish ship, and on the long voyage home he presumably reflects on the bad things that can happen when you don't do what you're told.
