Issue Tagline: Introducing Saavik!

Format: Color; Standard Comic Issue; 36 pages

Story Arc(s):    Add/remove story arcs to this issue

When an asteroid approaches an uncharted world, Enterprise, without Spock's valuable scientific counsel, moves to protect. They save the planet rather easily, and discover an entirely unknown alien species. Kirk and McCoy debate how to proceed with the first contact.

Back on Earth, Spock meets Saavik for the first time, and begins to help the Romulan-Vulcan girl learn to control her emotions. After a difficult period of time with the young Saavik, he decides that the most logical guidance for her would come from his own parents. He leaves the girl in her parents' care and returns to Enterprise
