Telepathy War

Synopsis:
This issue attempts to connect three disparate plot threads. It begins as a coda to the previous two issues' "Leviathan" arc. Showing us the after-effects of the Leviathan incident, Janeway and the crew put into an Elessian port for repairs and celebration. While there, the second major chord of the issue begins, with Kes detecting the effects of the Telepathy War ongoing in the Alpha Quadrant. Her ability to sense something happening at such a long range ties directly into the plot of the fourth season episode, "The Gift", in which Kes decides to leave the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager, in order to explore her massively enhanced telepathic abilities.

Notes:
While a somewhat negligible part of the overall "Telepathy War" storyline, this issue was an admirable attempt to integrate Marvel's late 90s Star Trek line into the then-current episodes of Voyager. "The Gift" aired on 10 September 1997, just a month or so before this comic was published.
