Synopsis:
When the TARDIS begins to malfunction, the Doctor is forced to land unexpectedly. He ends up on Bellus IV, a world plagued by perpetual war. He is immediately captured by a squadron of soldiers, led by Commander Deldran.

Apparently human, Deldran claims a generational war has been raging between humans and humanoid robots. As the squadron, along with the Doctor, repair to their base, Deldran announces his side has a way to deactivate all robot life forms.

Deldran's just showing the Doctor their secret weapon when the base is beseiged by robot opponents. Deldran begs the Doctor to throw the switch on the weapon. The device instantly works, but it takes out Deldran and his squadron too.

The Doctor investigates why Deldran's team fell to the device, and sees that beneath his "skin", Deldran's a robot, too. In his last moments, Deldran explains that the humans on both sides of the war have long since died, leaving behind only their robot helpers to perpetuate the war.
