Synopsis:
The Skrull royalty (situated in the fifth quadrant of the Andromeda galaxy) learns of the abilities of one of their own - the Super Skrull. He has the ability to mimic all four members of the Fantastic Four but with greater strength and control. He is dispatched to Earth to claim the planet as their own.

The FF hear of his landing in Times Square and hurry there to assist with any trouble. As the FF engage the Super Skrull, the Skrull royalty watches via a visual transmission. Reed, Johnny and Ben all get showed up by the powers of the Super Skrull. Sue doesn't engage him in battle. Reed pulls Johnny and Ben out of the fight to plan better. The Super Skrull in his arrogance allows them to spend a "sleepless night fearing my next move."

Reed deduces that the Super Skrull is being fed power to perform his stunts via an "ultrasonic power rays" being beamed from the fifth quadrant. He quickly designs a jamming transistor that must be placed on the Super Skrull and commissions Sue to do it because she is the only one who could possibly get close enough.

Reed summons the Super Skrull to meet them at Crater Isle (an unihabited island). The Skrull royalty watches in anticipation, increasing the level of ultrasonic power rays to the Super Skrull. The Super Skrull unveils his hidden power - the ability to hypnotize, and he does so to the three male members. Sue uses this time to jump him and plant the jamming device. Although Sue is invisible, the Super Skrull chases her down into a crater. She manages to trip him just as Reed pulls her to safety. Johnny seals the Super Skrull in the crater with his heat.
