Spider-man finds himself in several altercations across New York against various heroes including the likes of Cloak & Dagger, Daredevil, Gravity, Power Man & Iron Fist, Sun Girl, Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four and the Future Foundation. When news of Spidy's rampage reaches the Avengers, they decide to intervene, reflecting on his recent questionable behavior. After the Avengers apprehend Spider-man it is revealed that he was actually chasing Carrion around. He had possessed all the heroes Spidey had confronted and now possesses one of the most powerful Avengers, Hyperion, who is soon defeated thus earning Spider-man some new found trust. In the wake of that incident, Spider-man decides to put together a new "superior team".
Elsewhere, Carrion plots with the Jackel over theádemise of Spider-man.
