Thor and Volstagg lead the army across the wasteland where tehy discover the bones of Kurse who fell defending Asgard's orphans followed shortly by Thor's brother Vidar who's fuields were burnt as a memorial.

Eventually they reached the site of a large battle at Vanaheim, present was Fenris who had doubled in size.

Thor is shocked t learn Sif is alive but missing an arm. She still manages to hold her own against Durok the Demolisher but he soon turns his attention to Thor who suddenly realises his full potential and calls down a large lightning strike without help from Mjolnir.
