Seven Soldiers of Victory

Alix Harrower starts the story guarding a mermaid with another possibly superpowered individual. However, in the distance, an assassin named I, Spyder has her in his sights.

After Alix's employer is poisoned, she is left to the hero convention to herself and another person. In one of the panel discussions, the events of The Manhattan Guardian miniseries are briefly mentioned by a stuttering fanboy. After a string of conversations Alix has with one of the women from the porn website her husband went to and Mind-Grabber Man, Spyder takes his shot with a diamond arrow, but misses. Across the room, the mermaid is poisoned again and no one seems to notice.

Back at Alix's apartment, she explains to her roommate that she knows that she's Sally Sonic, the woman who seduced her husband, and the two get into a brawl.
