The X-Men are on a plane over the alps when it gets attacked by a Factor Three Magno-Disk. They jump out of the plane to save the other passengers, and Cyclops bullseyes the Magno-Disk. Through luck and use of their powers, they manage to make a safe landing. There they get ambushed by Factor Three Arachnoids and two strange hooded figures. The X-Men beat a strategic withdrawal, only to run into a misty valley where the mist is actually sleeping gas! When they come to, they find themselves prisoners of Factor Three, and on trial for crimes against mutants! The rigged jury of Blob, Unus, Mastermind, and Vanisher quickly finds them guilty, and they are sentenced to Life-in-Death (apparently brainwashing of some sort), but not until after the Mutant Master has disclosed his Evil Plan (TM). The X-Men are left alone, hooked-up to the Oblivio-Ray, and escape by using ice to short-circuit the device. The only guardian is an easily defeated robot which they quickly bypass. They try to find the Mutant Master, but all they find is him on a vid-screen, taunting them that they have 1 hour until his plan unleashes a nuclear exchange between the US and Russia!
