Letters Column: Avengers Assemble!

Synopsis:
Wonder Man & the Beast are wandering the streets late at night when they come across a neighborhood where the locals are terrified of some underground creatures they call crawlers. They say the crawlers have abducted a boy named Hugo. Simon & Hank go into the sewers to look for him. They find Hugo with the crawlers, and he tells them that the crawlers are not bad, that they've befriended him. He says the crawlers were created as the result of a failed government experiment. The locals find them and attack the crawlers. Wonder Man & Beast take Hugo away back to his mother, who is ungrateful and is abusive to Hugo and Hugo's sister. The locals then go back to try and bomb the crawlers. Meanwhile, Hugo has gone back to the crawlers, so Beast & Wonder Man go with Hugo's sister to find him. They get there as the locals attack the crawlers. Hugo dies in the explosion and ensuing flood. The Beast & Wondy get Hugo's sister to safety, and return her to their ungrateful, abusive, mother. They attempt to tell a police officer about the bombing committed by the locals, but when the officer calls in the report, he is told that no such incident has been reported at that location. Wondy & the Beast give up and go home.
