The Avengers scramble to contain the biological fallout that came as a result of the origin bombs that were recently launched at Earth. They arrive at the Savage Land were they discover A.I.M. agents collecting samples of the base sequencing from the alien matter. They are even bold enough to intoduce it into the bloodstream of one of their interns, the results disastrous.
Hyperion revisits his past, remembering that when he was young he had escaped a dying planet to be raised by an adopted father who had taught him a philosophy of virtue- "Truth without compromise. Thought without error. All things for the betterment of the whole." Eventually an incursion event would come to pass on his adopted planet. Hyperion was unable to prevent the two worlds from colliding and two entire universes were destroyed, everything except for him. He was pulled out of the nothing and into this reality by A.I.M. technology and was held captive until he was freed by the Avengers.
New baby life forms emerge from the cocoons in the Savage Land. The "Children of the Sun" flock to Hyperion speaking the language of the Builders' machine code.
The Avengers find some relief in knowing that all six origin bomb sights have been successfully contained. However, A.I.M. has discovered a seventh sight unknown to the Avengers.
