Chapter 1: "The Priest" Unable to help the pimps, prostitutes, and drug dealers of New York City, Father Francis Delgado returns to the Holy Ghost Church and prays for God's guidance. He opens his eyes and instead finds Cloak and Dagger. The pair recounts their origins and asks for sanctuary.

Chapter 2: "The Detective" Detective O'Rielly interviews local thugs under arrest. Two super-natural vigilantes attacked the criminals who preyed on runaways. She vows to end the pair's illegal crusade.

Chapter 3: "Faith" Father Delgado learns more about Cloak and Dagger. He questions the morality of their mission but watches helplessly as they leave for another patrol.

Chapter 4: "Hope" Runaways Jerry and Alice walk off their bus and into the Big Apple, but hoodlums quickly lure the broke, hungry and bewildered teens into an abandoned building.

Chapter 5: "Charity" Alice screams when the ruffians demand lewd favors. On cue, Cloak and Dagger appear. A gangster attacks falling victim to Cloak's abyss. His cohorts react with gunfire. They fail to hit their targets, but the noise alerts nearby Detective O'Rielly. She arrives in time to witness a stray bullet kill Jerry. The vigilantes use their powers to finish the battle and vanish before they can be arrested.

Epilogue: "The Church" Father Delgado quietly watches the couple worry about what they've become.
