On his first day back on the GCPD following the tragic events of No Man’s Land, Commissioner Jim Gordon is brought to the scene of a mob hit which has resulted in the death of a veteran GCPD officer. Letting his grief get the best of him, Gordon tries to solve the case single-handedly, resulting in actions that recent transfer from Metropolis PD Detective Crispus Allen does not agree with. As Gordon is about to take drastic measures akin of suicide, Batman arrives on the scene and helps Gordon to direct his grief properly, preventing a certain death. When all is said and done, Gordon and Batman are now more similar creatures than ever.
