Letters Column: Avengers Assemble!
Thinking that the Molecule Man has just killed the Avengers & Surfer, she goes off to be by herself. Meanwhile, the National Guard and Fantastic Four are unable to break the Molecule Man's barrier to get inside. Meanwhile, it is revealed that the Avengers did not die, as the Silver Surfer was able to disintegrate the lower part of the anvil they were on just before the press came down, so they fell through to the floor below. Without Iron Man's armor and Thor's hammer, Tony Stark and Donald Blake's secret identities are now revealed to Cap & the Surfer. Captain America devises a plan to defeat the Molecule Man. Meanwhile, Tigra sneaks up on the Molecule Man, planning to murder him in his sleep. She doesn't know that he's aware of her presence. However, she cannot do it, and walks away, now angry with herself for her failures. Captain America then finds her and tells were of his plan. However, the Molecule Man discovers them. Captain America is able to evade the Molecule Man's attacks and punch him, knocking him out. The Avengers and Surfer then debate on whether or not to kill him, since he is too dangerous to keep alive. As they debate this, Tigra talks to the Molecule Man and is able to convince him that destroying the earth won't solve anything, but will only make him more lonely than ever. He decides to turn himself into authorities and seek counseling. He restores Thor's Hammer, the Surfer's Board, and Cap's shield. He is unable to restore Iron Man's armor, but creates an Iron Man leisure suit for him. The Silver Surfer declines Avengers membership, and Tigra quits the Avengers, saying that she is not in their league.
