Letters Column: Avengers Assemble!
Synopsis:
Ms. Marvel gives birth to a boy. He grows physically at an incredible rate, and mentally even faster. Meanwhile, there are many time related anomalies happening all around New York: Dinosaurs, knights, cowboys, etc. appear out of nowhere, and people are transported back in time. Ms. Marvel at first seems bitter about the child, saying she has been used. Scarlet Witch tells Vision she is reconciled to not having children. Beast snookers Hawkeye in billiards. Dr Donald Blake and the Avengers are at a loss to explain what is happening to Ms. Marvel's "son" who calls himself Marcus. As he grows older, in a few hours, he requests several tools and instruments. The Avengers comply, and, now a young man, he begins building a complex machine. Avengers Mansion is attacked by a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and several spaceships and biplanes. Most of the Avengers go outside to deal with the threat. Inside the mansion, they are attacked by knights, pirates, and cavaliers. Hawkeye does not trust Marcus, and believes that Marcus' machine is responsible for the current time related problems. So, Hawkeye destroys the machine. Marcus then tries to goad the Avengers into killing him, but Ms. Marvel, now feeling a strange attraction to him, says they'll have to go through her. Marcus now knows he must tell the Avengers the truth. He is the son of Immortus. After Immortus died Marcus was left alone in Limbo, and after a while started going mad with loneliness. He knew that, since he was born in Limbo, if he came to earth, he would cause catastrophic time-related rifts. So, he decided to bring Ms. Marvel to Limbo, then charm and seduce her, then impregnate her with his essence. He then sent her back to earth one second later with no recollection of being in Limbo. She then gave birth to Marcus. Marcus had hoped to build a machine to control the time anomalies he knew his presence would cause. Once Hawkeye destroyed it, he tried to get the Avengers to kill him because he'd rather die than go back to Limbo alone. He didn't tell the Avengers the truth because he didn't think they'd believe him. Ms. Marvel volunteers to go to Limbo to live with Marcus.
